I may seem to be rushing through the plants and flowers in our garden in North West England but nature waits for no one. This particular shrub flowers for only a few days in the year so if I don’t show it now it will be too late. It’s Amelanchier Canadensis which, as the Latin name suggests, originates in Canada. The white flowers are immediately followed by the bronze tipped young leaves. It produces edible berries and gives an amazing display of colour in autumn.
